national museum of the history of Ukraine in second world war this museum or
this sculpture rather was opened to public in 1981 following its completion it
was earlier scheduled to have a statue of Lenin and Joseph Stalin over here
that was back in 1950's but the plan was then scrapped in 1974 it came up with
the idea to have a monument built that would signify the motherland of Ukraine and the statue is dedicated towards it it's not just that this museum also
signifies the contribution of Ukraine in the then USSR in the second world war
and has replicas ranging from uh the missiles batteries Trucks tanks and even the fighter jets that were used
during that time it also has helicopters there's a ring of fire that used to
light up but currently it's not lit up additionally it is also pertinent to
mention that this motherland statue gives a panoramic view of the entire city
